The Enterprise Zone (EZ) program is designed to encourage hiring and investment in economically depressed areas throughout California. The EZ program provides tax incentives to businesses and allows private sector market forces to revive the local economy.
The Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) is a federal tax credit for hiring individuals from twelve target groups who have consistently faced significant barriers to employment. Participating employers are compensated by being able to reduce their federal income tax liability.
The Hiring Incentives to Restore Employment (HIRE) Act contains hiring and business stimulus provisions that are intended to encourage businesses to hire and retain unemployed workers and includes both a payroll tax exemption and an employee retention tax credit.
The Research & Development (R&D) Tax Credit is available at both the federal and state level for taxpayers of any size that design, develop or improve products, processes, techniques, formulas or software.
